Ellinor's Litventures

This blog is about my literary adventures in different genres. I like variety in my reading and will read books from most genres but particulary book with some literary merit.

#BookADayUK - Days 18 to 22

Walk Two Moons - Sharon Creech The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle - Avi Ich mach dich gesund, sagte der Bär: Die Geschichte, wie der kleine Tiger einmal krank war (German Edition) - Janosch Sovereign - C.J. Sansom Die Stimmen des Flusses: Roman (suhrkamp taschenbuch) - Jaume Cabré

I haven't been really online for a few days so I'm now creating one big post to catch up with the past week.

Day 18: Favourite Coming of Age Book: I read Walk two Moons at the beginning of this year. It is an unusual coming of age book and I wish more people knew about it.

Day 19: Favourite Seafaring Novel: I love historical adventures with strong girl characters. This book is very special and I enjoyed every sentence of it.

Day 20: Favourite Literary Friendship: Janosch's Tiger and Bear are absolutely great friends and they've been my favourites ever since childhood.

Day 21: A Book to turn someone into a reader: My husband is a non-reader. I always try to find books for him which he might enjoy and this is proving very difficult. But I once gave him Sovereign by C.J. Sansom and he just loved it. He has now read all of his books and we are desperately waiting for the new one. But he doesn't read in English, so we have to wait even longer for the translation.

Day 22: Best book recommended by a bookseller: This book was actually not recommended to me by a bookseller but by Amazon's recommendation feature. This is usually very bad and this was also the only time I ever got a brilliant recommendation through them.
